Berrin studies party politics from an institutional change perspective. Specializing in Turkish politics, she analyzes trends in both Western European and Turkish contexts in the post-1980 era. She focuses on the consequences of changing organizational structure related to decreasing party membership and weakening voter identification. Her field work experience includes in-depth interviews with party members and political actors, and archive research on parties.
