Valeria Piro is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Sociology and Business Law of the University of Bologna, where she is investigating, through participant observation, styles and spaces of youth participation.

Valeria Piro has obtained a PhD in Sociology at the University of Milan in September 2015, discussing a thesis focused on migrant labor in agriculture, based on an ethnographic research realized in the South of Italy.
